If you have a condition such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Asperger's Syndrome, Psychosis or are someone who has previously experienced an accident, you may be finding the prospect of learning to drive to be overwhelming or maybe even frightening. Shamrock Driving School offer a unique, cost effective and local solution to this. ![]() SHAMROCK DRIVING SCHOOL'S OFF-ROAD FACILITY IN CHIPPENHAM Shamrock Driving School provide a tarmaced off road facility in Chippenham, provided at Chippenham Rugby Football Club (Free Pick Up / Drop Off can be arranged in Chippenham, Corsham, Calne & Melksham areas only), where traffic cones are used to mark out a simple route where you can learn about and practice car controls, moving off and stopping, left and right turns including T-junctions together with roundabouts and build your confidence before taking to the open road. Shamrock Driving School instructor Gary Fossey DSA ADI (Car) together with Gillian Stone who has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and 15 years experience as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with psychiatric experience, offer a two pronged approach. While Gary provides you with professional driving tuition in the safe environment of the off road facility, Gillian will be available to provide face to face and/or telephone support and counselling together with providing professional advice and information to Gary on how to tailor driving tuition to your individual condition. The price to use this facilty is £42 per hour and this will only be charged while you use it, after which standard learner driver lesson prices will apply. As a guide, most Pupils with special educational and psychological needs would benefit from up to 6 or 7 hours use of the facility which only costs around £122.50 more than driving lessons on the open roads. A small price to pay to build your skills without the distraction of other road users and develop the confidence to venture onto the open road!
